saturday: pig-out day!
what awoke me this morning was the sweet aroma of onion, garlic and pepper being sauteed with something.. my mind was suddenly alert.. hmmmm.. breakfast! yumm yumm.. i raedily fixed my bed and approached the kitchen.. it was my mama who was cooking.. and what’s in it for us? adobong alimango and fried rice served with native coffee and ginisang bagoong on the side! really! i then prepared the table and called everybody to eat.. even waki was awaken with the aroma wafting around the house! we shared a sumptous meal.. everybody was full, everybody was happy.. what a way to start the day right? after it, i volunteered to bathe waki.. he was so fond of water and his mom told me that his most favorite activity was taking a bath.. true to jen’s words, the moment waki stepped into the water, he screamed so loud, seeing in his cherubic face that he was so delighted.. he kept splashing water to my direction and by the end of the bathing session, i was already drenched with water.. waki ha, binasa mo si tita.. i gave waki to papa and they went outside t play while jen and i cleaned the house.. we were telling stories all the while.. after the long hours of cleaning and before oticing the time, it was lunch already! mama prepared chpseuy and fried fish.. i swear my belly’s gonna burts na talaga.. hehe..
during merienda time, i went to the supermarket to buy ingredients for spaghetti.. oh by the way, my mom cooks the most delicious spaghetti in the whole wide world! hehe, just kidding.. but it’s the best i ever had, really.. wherever i go and whenever i get the chanve to eat spag, i can’t help but compare it to my mom’s own cooking, and my convlusion’s always the same: my mom’s cooking is still the winner.. haha!! so we had spaghetti, toasted bread and iced tea in the afternoon.. by dinner time, my papa brought tuna belly and panga and he grilled it complete with pepino and toyo-mansi for sawsawan.. it was gluttony already but who can’t help it? i was being served with a banquet.. if this eating goes on for weeks, i would be the size of an elephant in no time.. it was the most unfirgettable pigging out saturday ever.. and what made it extra special? each other’s presence of course!
