adam sandler..

February 12, 2008

out of boredome last weekened, i went digging to some of our old dvds, and i got the inkling of watching adam sandler movies.. i watched all 3! and here they are:

1. the wedding singer (1998)

The Wedding Singer is a pretty average romantic story that wins because of funny performances and the ever elusive "chemistry" between Sandler and Barrymore. This was the first movie that taught me what romantic chemistry was. While you’re watching it you not only want the characters Robbie and Julia to get together, but you want Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore to get together. The chemistry is that strong. A reason people, especially guys, don’t like romance movies is because often the love between the leads seem contrived and forced. Thankfully, the Wedding Singer steers clear from that, and actually allows you to have an emotional stake in the characters.

2. 50 first dates (2004)

Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore star together for the first time since The Wedding Singer in one of the funniest romantic comedies in years. Henry (Sandler) lives an enviable life in a Hawaiian paradise, spending every night with a beautiful tourist in search of an island fling. It’s a sweet life with no strings attached…until he meets Lucy (Barrymore). He and Lucy hit it off from the get-go, but the next day she acts like she doesn’t know him. Has his karma come around to kick him in the butt or what? Actually, Lucy has short-term memory loss so every night all memory of her day is erased. But a man in love will go to any lengths to win over the girl of his dreams, and if that means having to find imaginative ways of doing it over again every day, then Henry’s up for the challenge. Rob Schneider (Big Daddy) and Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) co-star in 50 First Dates, which will win you over every time you watch it!

3. Click (2006)

What a pleasant surprise "Click" turned out to be! Based on the trailer, one can assume that Adam Sandler, playing Michael Newman in his latest movie, has made a movie that is just like Adam Sandler’s last movie… and Adam Sandler’s movie before that… and the one before that… i.e., the comedy at which you groan, shake your head, say "what the…", and yet can’t help from laughing out loud. That’s what you get in the first hour of this film. That hour is also as much as the trailer shows, and for good reason.

blown away!

i’m completely blown away! somebody keep me on the right track please..

got so much to do, the upcoming datacom exam tomorrow should be readied for, plus the SAD project.. gosh, chapter 2’s deadline was yesterday and here i am, i haven’t even finalized chapter 1.. i mean, what’s with me? i completely lost track with everything.. i’m not just in the mood to do anything.. i have the guts to begin but don’t have the nerve to finish ‘em off..

random thoughts..

fate brought us together, i know that for a fact. he was just a dream to me then, a dream i thought wouldn’t materialize before my very eyes, but that dream became a reality. i was able to hold him and call mine. one of life’s greatest journey is to find the real one for you, the one who would change you for the better, the one who would dare do the things they’ve never done before just to make you happy. and yeah, i found him, 821 days ago to be exact. finding him and capturing him was indeed a conquest, and the moment i knew the feeling was mutual, i grasped him instantly and from that day forward, i promised never to let go.

love is a feeling you would and would not want. it makes you happy, but it pains you sometimes. you can’t help but wonder  "nganu dili pwede na happy na lang pirmi?".. i have asked myself and even God about it for many times now.. and still haven’t found no answer, and guess i’ll never find one.

harsh realities of life.. embrace it, live with it! you aren’t left with many choices, are you?
