Mischa Barton facing 4 misdemeanors

February 28, 2008

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Mischa Barton, who on "The O.C." played a wealthy teenager in idyllic Orange County, got a dose of reality Tuesday when she was charged with four misdemeanors related to a drinking and driving arrest last year.

The former star of "The O.C." was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving while having a 0.08 percent or higher blood alcohol level, driving without a valid license and possession of 28.5 grams or less of marijuana, according to court papers.

In a statement, Barton attorney Anthony V. Salerno said he was pleased his client was only charged with misdemeanors.

"The D.A.’s office is to be commended for treating this case the same as it would any other matter; Ms. Barton has received no special treatment," Salerno said.

Barton was arrested Dec. 27 in West Hollywood after sheriff’s deputies saw her car straddling two lanes of traffic and failing to signal for a turn.

Barton played Marissa Cooper on "The O.C." from 2003 to 2006, when her character died in a car crash. She also has appeared in several movies, including "The Sixth Sense" and the upcoming "Virgin Territory."

In May, Barton was hospitalized for two hours after an antibiotic she was taking interacted badly with alcohol.

Barton was scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday in Beverly Hills Superior Court.

Anderson seeks to annul 2-month marriage

February 27, 2008

LOS ANGELES - Court documents show that Pamela Anderson is seeking an annulment, rather than a divorce, from husband Rick Salomon. The actress is seeking to annul the two-month marriage based on fraud. No other details were available, and Anderson’s publicist did not immediately return an e-mail request for comment Tuesday.

In court papers filed in Los Angeles on Friday, Anderson asked the court not to award spousal support and to keep her and Salomon’s income and property separate. On Monday, Anderson filed a request to have a retired judge handle the annulment proceedings — a common practice in celebrity split-ups as it keeps matters private and out of the court.

Anderson and Salomon, both 40, were married Oct. 6 in Las Vegas and separated Dec. 13. He’s best known for making a sex videotape with then-girlfriend Paris Hilton and was previously married to actress Shannen Doherty.

Anderson was previously married to singer Kid Rock and Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee.

Brit and Boys: Reunited!

February 25, 2008

Los Angeles (E! Online) - Reunited and it feels so good for Britney Spears and her boys.

For the first time in nearly two months, the beleaguered pop star had face-to-face contact with sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, during a Saturday morning, court-monitored visit, sources confirm to E! News.

The boys, who have primarily resided at Federline’s home in Tarzana since October, were packed into his gray Dodge Viper truck by a bodyguard and shuttled to Spears’ home on the Studio City-Beverly Hills border around 9 a.m.

The visit lasted until noon, at which point the boys were driven back to Federline’s, wearing smiles on their faces.

Aside from Spears and a court-appointed monitor, there were several other key personnel on hand, including: Britney’s father, Jamie Spears; a Federline security guard; and a lawyer from the Luce Forward law firm, which is handling Britney’s conservatorship for Jamie Spears.

According to an insider, the 26-year-old pop star was not permitted to take the boys, ages two and one, into another room without the others watching.

The ground rules for the visitation were hammered out Friday night, by lawyers for Luce Forward and ex-husband Kevin Federline.

"None of this would have happened if Jamie Spears had not been involved. That’s for sure," Federline attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan told E! News Friday. "He gets a lot of credit for helping make this happen. But we’ve worked very hard with the conservator lawyers, as well, to make this all work."

Federline has had sole custody since October, and Spears hadn’t seen Sean and Jayden since Jan. 3, after she refused to allow Federline’s bodyguard to pick up the boys after one of her monitored visits and ended up under observation at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

The troubled songstress was stripped of her visitation privileges and has only been allowed to contact the boys by phone, but even those conversations have been few and far between, sources tell E! News.

Spears is not slated to see the boys tomorrow, according to a source, and plans to stay home and watch the Oscars in the company of her dad and Adnan Ghalib.

Cops: Ne-Yo Was Driving CRAZY!

February 23, 2008

neyo

TMZ has learned that R&B singer Ne-Yo, aka Shaffer Smith, was popped on Feb. 19 while driving through Cobb County, Georgia. That’s so sick!

Cops pulled Ne-Yo after they observed him driving well over 100 mph in his 2006 Range Rover. He was arrested for reckless driving and for not having a valid license.

Maybe he was rushing to the Hair Club for Men. WTF’s up with that receding hairline? So that’s why he wears hats all the time!
